Eulerian Numbers Associated with Arithmetical Progressions
In this paper, we give a combinatorial interpretation of the r-Whitney-Eulerian numbers by means of coloured signed permutations. This sequence is a generalization of the well-known Eulerian numbers and it is connected to r-Whitney numbers of the second kind. Using generating functions, we provide some combinatorial identities and the log-concavity property. Finally, we show some basic congruen...
متن کاملArithmetical Properties of Elliptic Bernoulli and Euler Numbers
We introduce elliptic analogues to the Bernoulli ( resp. Euler) numbers and functions. The first aim of this paper is to state and prove that our elliptic Bernoulli and Euler functions satisfied Raabe’s formulas (cf. Theorems 3.1.1, 3.2.1). We define two kinds of elliptic Dedekind-Rademacher sums, in terms of values of our elliptic Bernoulli (resp. Euler) functions. The second aim of this paper...
متن کاملComplementary Bell Numbers: Arithmetical Properties and Wilf’s Conjecture
The 2-adic valuations of Bell and complementary Bell numbers is determined. The complementary Bell numbers are known to be zero at n = 2 and H. S. Wilf conjectured that this is the only case where vanishing occurs. N. C. Alexander and J. An prove (independently) that there are at most two indices where this happens. This paper presents yet an alternative proof of the latter.
متن کاملOn Some Arithmetical Properties of the Genocchi Numbers and Polynomials
We investigate the properties of the Genocchi functions and the Genocchi polynomials. We obtain the Fourier transform on the Genocchi function. We have the generating function of h, q -Genocchi polynomials. We define the Cangul-Ozden-Simsek’s type twisted h, q -Genocchi polynomials and numbers. We also have the generalized twisted h, q -Genocchi numbers attached to the Dirichlet’s character χ. F...
متن کاملArithmetical Knowledge and Arithmetical Definability: Four Studies
by Sean Walsh The subject of this dissertation is arithmetical knowledge and arithmetical definability. The first two chapters contain respectively a critique of a logicist account of a preferred means by which we may legitimately infer to arithmetical truths and a tentative defense of an empiricist account. According to the logicist account, one may infer from quasi-logical truths to patently ...
